The action will ensure that the screening to signs of radicalisation tool, risk and needs assessment tool and rehabilitation methodology aimed at violent extremist prisoners (VEPs) are adjusted and optimized towards needs of the penitentiary system of Albania and its beneficiaries and that the prison professionals are trained to use it in their daily work, including other stakeholders at the local level relevant for reintegration and resocialization of the former prisoners upon their return to communities. Other needs that prison system in Albania has such as: staff training curricula in management of VEPs, methodology for assessment of risk and needs of women offenders, operating procedures on pre-release and preparation for release etc., will be addressed through regional dimension of the action along with challenges that stand before multi-agency and multi-stakeholder co-ordination and support to a prisoner from life in prison to life in community.
